Rachel Younger

Rachel Younger is a licensed social worker and therapist with a distinctive background in both physics and social work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics, a Master of Science in Physics, and a Master of Social Work. Rachel currently leads workplace wellness initiatives at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams at Michigan State University, where she integrates her scientific training and clinical expertise to promote mental health and well-being in high-stress environments. Her career spans federal government service, nonprofit work with justice-involved individuals, and outpatient mental health care. She also served on the Board of Directors for the SALUS Center, a nonprofit organization serving Lansing’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Rachel is deeply committed to supporting her community, bridging gaps between disciplines, and sharing her knowledge — particularly within the field of physics — to help others care for themselves and cultivate environments where they can truly thrive.
