Katy Rodriguez Wimberly
Dr. Katy Rodriguez Wimberly is an astrophysicist and Assistant Professor at CSU San Bernardino specializing in Near-Field Cosmology. Her research explores galaxy formation and evolution, focusing on the smallest and oldest galaxies near the Milky Way, offering insights into the early universe. A Southern California native and former community college student, Katy is deeply committed to mentorship and expanding access to STEM. She contributes to these efforts as Director of Mentorship for the Cal–Bridge Program and Vice President of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific’s Board of Directors. Outside academia, she enjoys hiking, binging TV, and adventures with her hubby and two kids.
