Annual Leadership Meeting
Annual Leadership Meeting: Connect with APS members at this special event
The APS Annual Leadership Meeting (ALM) will bring together invited American Physical Society members and leaders of the scientific community to enhance their skills as volunteers, network, learn from peers, and shape physics' future. At the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C., from February 4 - 6, 2026, invited attendees will:
- Connect with others who share a passion for APS community leadership
- Share best practices and cultivate stronger alignment with peer groups
- Celebrate the accomplishments of volunteers
Attendees can also participate in Congressional Visits Day on February 3 - 4, 2026, APS’s annual kickoff advocacy event.
Pre-event: Congressional Visits Day
Congressional Visits Day brings dozens of APS members to Capitol Hill to advocate on behalf of the physics community. Meetings with constituents are one of the most effective ways to influence policymakers.
Each APS member who is selected to attend participates in a comprehensive training process, learning APS’s policy priorities so that they can speak confidently to elected officials and Congressional staff.
