The Frank Isakson Award for Optical Effects in Solids is presented biennially by the Division of Condensed Matter Physics (DCMP) to recognize exceptional research in optical effects in solids that has advanced our understanding of condensed matter science.

Established in 1979 in memory of Frank Isakson, the award was originally supported by the Photoconductivity Conference and received additional support from Elsevier from 1994 through 2022.

Today, we have an exciting opportunity to strengthen the future of this recognition. A 3:1 matching opportunity will help us reach our $75,000 goal, with a portion of the match generously provided by an anonymous donor and the remainder by DCMP.
